Mistakes on the Path is a very pleasurable, intense, inspiring read. It is an unusual marriage between Fear of Flying by Erica Jong and Mojud: The Man with the Inexplicable Life by Osho, all spiced up with Madhuri’s flare for poetry, her ruthless honesty, and her unquestionable devotion.

You have to be ready to dive with her into a whole lifetime of inner and outer adventures. You can feel, hear, smell, see it all. There is no holding back.

Her endless string of boyfriends and sexual encounters is interwoven with profound insights and teachings directly from the Master. It is truly refreshing to feel – together with her – that sacred and profane are not separated by morality but merged into one consciousness.

Madhuri is a ‘Fool’, in the most illustrious spiritual meaning. She throws herself into whatever experience is being offered to her, and lives it all, blissfully and tragically. She is a Baul, a Sufi, a Devotee.

As Osho says, “A fool is one who goes on trusting; a fool is one who goes on trusting against all his experience. You deceive him, and he trusts you; and you deceive him again, and he trusts you. Her inner journey takes us from frantic Doing in youth to the bliss of allowing, Non-doing, as she reaches maturity. It contains also some ‘pearls’ about the relationship between therapist and client. In this light, her ‘mistakes on the path’ are, more than anything, lessons and experiences that have made her rich, compassionate and mature.
