Mystic Poetry in Dance – A journey from Classical to Contemporary Expression

Zorba the Buddha was elated to host the Mystic poetry dance by Mónica de la Fuente on October 30, 2019. The performance beautifully represented the journey from Classical to Contemporary Expression. 

Mystic poetry in dance has been one of “The narrow path of Akka” based on the life and poetry of Akkamaha devi, the first work on “Bhakti and poetry” where Indian dance and gesture language (mudras) were the instruments to explore the relationships between movement, words and music. Bhakti- “Mystic Poetry in Dance” tries to explore how body and mind absorb different artistic influences to express them in a Poetic way. It’s a journey from Classical to Contemporary Expression through Dance and Poetry.
