No Mala and No Free Entry
to OSHO International Meditation Resort

Pune, 4th May 2023
On March 22nd, 2023, a violent mob incited and organized by a group including Narain Das (aka Swami Chaitanya Keerti), Kishor Raval (aka Prem Anadi), Sunil Mirpuri (aka Yog Sunil), and Dharam Jyoti stormed the Osho International Meditation Resort. This group, which has been harassing the trustees of the Foundations for many years, recently filed actions in the courts to overturn Osho’s specific guidance. This harassment has now turned to violence.
On April 25th, the Bombay High Court rejected this group’s demands and instead confirmed and protected Osho’s guidance with a clear decision in favor of the Foundation.
The court order of April 25th clarifies an earlier order from 11th August 2022 from the same court. Keerti and his followers had tried to twist that first order to mean that Osho’s guidance about the use of malas and payment for entry did not apply to people visiting Osho’s bedroom. This is the same bedroom where Osho’s ashes are situated, “under the bed” at his explicit request.
The April 25th clarification clearly states that visits to the Osho International Meditation Resort and Osho’s bedroom are only possible “in accordance with the rules, conventions and traditions” of the meditation resort.
In addition, the court further ordered that to prevent any further infringements of these rules, conventions and traditions, the trustees “can approach the office of the Joint Charity Commissioner or Deputy Charity Commissioner.”

This decision confirms that anyone visiting the meditation resort, including Osho’s bedroom, “should not wear the Mala” and that “the entry fee is also fixed.”
These same rules, conventions and traditions remain unchanged as they have for more than 35 years.
In simple language, if anyone wants to come to the OSHO International Meditation Resort, they are most welcome but will need to follow the rules.
To fully appreciate the gross deception behind all this manipulation of the facts, some background is needed. Keerti is clearly the leader of this group, naturally, because his followers don’t realize how much he is distorting what he knows to be the true facts about Osho’s instructions for the management of the meditation resort.
Of course, they are unaware that in 1987, as the then editor of Osho’s newspaper, Keerti announced the following in relation to what he called then, “Petty Wicked Acts”:
“These people don’t know that the outer symbols of sannyas – the wearing of malas and red clothes – have been dropped since some time. Now no sannyasin wears a mala. So, hereby the public is informed to be aware that people wearing red clothes and mala do not represent [Osho] rather probably they are hired people sent to inflame the emotions in people at large.”

It is a sign of Keerti’s dishonesty, that he now pretends that the complete opposite is true. He is now saying about the mala, “So how can we drop it just like that?” As part of this rejection of Osho’s precise instructions on the use of the mala, (which you can read here) clearly, Keerti has now joined those who commit “petty wicked acts” and who “do not represent Osho.” Shockingly, Keerti is now leading such “hired people sent to inflame the emotions in people at large.” (Participants of his violent mob were given free transport, food, and accommodation.)
Keerti also is fully aware that the issue of free entry to the meditation resort was settled long before by Osho himself in public talks on this exact topic. (Osho on Paying for Meditation)
In addition, Keerti is aware that Osho’s instructions about the use of his bedroom after the ashes were in place: “people can come in and meditate there.” Again, instead of accepting Osho’s wishes, Keerti invents a totally different use of this space: “Only for darshan.”
Another stark example of Keerti’s fraudulence is evident here. Osho is very clear:
“I am not a guru at all! The very idea of the guru and gurudom is ugly…. I am anti-guru!… The people who are gathered around here are my friends, not my followers.”
Now Keerti is parading himself in front of the media as the true disciple of “beloved Sadguru Osho.”
Keerti also demands that the “Holy Days” – that Osho has specifically requested not to happen – be reinvented. (Osho on Dropping the Celebration Days)
He also demands that the meditation resort be called “an ashram” even though during his tenure as editor of the OSHO Times he published the message from Osho that this campus would no longer be “an ashram.”
In summary, Keerti is deploying all this populist pseudo-spiritual propaganda to “inflame the emotions” of people he knows have none of this background. Why? As his lawyer was recorded as saying during their violent riot: “Soon we will be taking over the place.” Or as another rioter was recorded saying to one of the trustees, “You bitch! Get out! We want to run this place.”
The lifeblood of priestly politics: Money, power, and real estate wrapped up in “spiritual” language.
Just how far Keerti has decided to misrepresent Osho can be seen from the following:
Keerti’s latest religious edict on the mala:
“This ‘mala’ is sacred to us…. It was given to us by our guru. The ‘mala’ signifies a special bond that a disciple has with the guru. It highlights the master-disciple relation.”
Osho on the mala in 1981:
“That mala of mine, and the locket stringed to it, it is merely to startle the Indian dullards, nothing else. It is a joke, nothing else. But even to understand a joke, a little intelligence is needed.”

अप्रैल 25 के आर्डर ने इसी कोर्ट के 11 अगस्त 2022 के एक पहले के आर्डर को स्पष्ट किया है| कीर्ति और उनके अनुयायियों ने उस पहले आर्डर को तोड़ने-मरोड़ने की कोशिश की यह अर्थ निकालने के लिए कि माला के उपयोग और प्रवेश फी देने के बारे में ओशो का दिशा-निर्देश ओशो का बेडरूम देखने के लिए जानेवालों पर लागू नहीं होता| यह वही बेडरूम है जहां ओशो की अस्थियां उनके सुस्पष्ट निवेदन के अनुसार “उनके बिस्तर के नीचे” रखी हुई हैं |
अप्रैल 25 का स्पष्टीकरण साफ़ तौर पर कहता है कि ओशो इंटरनेशनल मेडिटेशन रिजार्ट और ओशो के बेडरूम में प्रवेश मेडिटेशन रिजार्ट के “नियमों, रीति-रिवाजों और परंपराओं के अनुसार” ही संभव है|
इसमें और आगे कोर्ट ने आर्डर दिया कि इन नियमों, रीति-रिवाजों और परंपराओं के आगे चलकर और उल्लंघन से बचने के लिए ट्रस्टीज “ज्वाइंट चैरिटी कमिश्नर अथवा डिप्टी चैरिटी कमिश्नर के आफिस में जा सकते हैं”|

यह फैसला इस बात की पुष्टि करता है कि मेडिटेशन रिजार्ट में, जिसमें ओशो का बेडरूम शामिल है, आने वाले किसी भी व्यक्ति को “माला नहीं पहननी चाहिए” और “प्रवेश की राशि भी तय है”|
ये नियम, रीति-रिवाज और परंपराएं अपरिवर्तित बनी रहती हैं जैसे कि वे पिछले 35 वर्षों से अधिक समय से बनी रही हैं|
सरल भाषा में कहें तो, यदि कोई व्यक्ति ओशो इंटरनेशनल मेडिटेशन रिजार्ट में आना चाहता है तो उनका बहुत-बहुत स्वागत है मगर उन्हें नियमों का पालन करना होगा|
तथ्यों को तोड़ने-मरोड़ने के पीछे के भारी छल-कपट को पूरी तरह समझने के लिए कुछ पृष्ठभूमि को समझना जरूरी है| कीर्ति स्पष्ट रूप से इस समूह के नेता हैं, स्वभावतः, क्योंकि उनके अनुयायियों को पता ही नहीं है कि मेडिटेशन रिजार्ट की व्यवस्था के बारे में ओशो के निर्देशों को, जिसे वह सच्चे तथ्यों के रूप में जानता है, कितना ज्यादा विकृत कर रहा है|
निश्चित ही, उन्हें ज़रा भी पता नहीं है कि 1987 में, उस समय के ओशो टाइम्स के संपादक के रूप में, कीर्ति ने निम्नलिखित अंश को ओशो टाइम्स में घोषित किया था जिसे उस समय उन्होंने “ओछी हरकतें” कहा था:

यह कीर्ति की बेईमानी का लक्षण है कि अब वे ऐसा दिखावा करते हैं कि इसका ठीक उलटा सच है| अब वे माला के बारे में कह रहे हैं, “तो इसे अब हम कैसे यूं ही छोड़ दें?” माला के उपयोग के बारे में ओशो के सुस्पष्ट निर्देशों के इस बहिष्कार के रूप में कीर्ति अब साफ़ तौर पर उन लोगों में सम्मिलित हो गए हैं जो “ओछी हरकतें” करते हैं और जो “ओशो का प्रतिनिधित्व नहीं करते|” चकित करनेवाली बात है कि कीर्ति अब इसी प्रकार के “किराये के लोग जो लोगों को भड़काने के लिए भेजे गए हैं” का नेतृत्व कर रहे हैं| (इनकी हिंसक भीड़ में भाग लेनेवालों को मुफ्त यात्रा-भाड़ा, भोजन और रहने की जगह मिली थी|)
कीर्ति को यह भी पूरी तरह से पता है कि मेडिटेशन रिजार्ट में मुफ्त प्रवेश का मसला बहुत पहले ही स्वयं ओशो द्वारा ही ठीक इसी विषय पर सार्वजनिक वार्ताओं में हल कर दिया गया था| (इस बारे में हमारे पूर्ववर्ती रिलीज देखें)
इससे आगे, कीर्ति को पता है कि ओशो के निर्देश उनकी अस्थियां स्थापित होने के बाद उनके बेडरूम के उपयोग के बारे में थे: “लोग वहां जाकर ध्यान कर सकते हैं|” एक बार फिर, ओशो की इच्छा स्वीकार करने के बजाय, कीर्ति उस स्थान के सर्वथा अलग ही उपयोग का आविष्कार कर बैठे हैं: “केवल दर्शन के लिए”|
कीर्ति की धूर्तता का एक अन्य स्तंभित करनेवाला उदाहरण यहां प्रगट है| ओशो बिलकुल स्पष्ट हैं:
“मैं हरगिज गुरु नहीं हूं! गुरु और गुरुत्व की अवधारणा ही भद्दी है| ….मैं गुरु का विपरीत हूं!…यहां जो लोग इकट्ठे हुए हैं वे मेरे मित्र हैं, मेरे अनुयायी नहीं|”
अब कीर्ति मीडिया के सामने स्वयं को “परमप्रिय सदगुरु ओशो” के असली शिष्य के रूप में प्रदर्शित कर रहे हैं|
कीर्ति की मांग यह भी है कि “पवित्र दिन” – जिन्हें निरस्त करने का निवेदन ओशो ने ख़ासतौर से किया था – पुनर्जीवित किए जाएं| (पूर्ववर्ती लिंक यहां जोड़ें)
उनकी मांग यह भी है कि मेडिटेशन रिजार्ट को “आश्रम” कहा जाए यद्यपि ओशो टाइम्स के अपने संपादन काल के दौरान इन्होंने ओशो से आया सन्देश प्रकाशित किया कि यह परिसर अब से “आश्रम” नहीं कहलाएगा|
संक्षेप में, कीर्ति इस सारे सस्ते व नकली-आध्यात्मिक प्रोपेगैंडा का इस्तेमाल उन लोगों की “भावनाओं में आग लगाने के लिए” कर रहे हैं जिन्हें, ये जानते हैं कि, इस सब पृष्ठभूमि का कुछ भी पता नहीं है| क्यों? जैसा कि इनका वकील इनके हिंसक दंगे के दौरान कहते हुए रिकार्ड हुआ है कि “जल्दी ही हम पूरी जगह पर कब्जा कर लेंगे|” अथवा, जैसे कि एक अन्य दंगाई एक ट्रस्टी को कहते हुए रिकार्ड हुआ है, “कुतिया! निकल जाओ! हम इस जगह को चलाना चाहते हैं|”

कीर्ति ने ओशो को किस हद तक गलत रूप से प्रस्तुत करने का निर्णय लिया हुआ है यह अग्रलिखित अंश में देखा जा सकता है:
माला पर कीर्ति का नवीनतम फरमान:
“यह ‘माला’ हम सब के लिए पवित्र है…यह हमें हमारे गुरु द्वारा दी गई थी| यह माला एक खास बंधन को दर्शाता है जो शिष्य का गुरु के प्रति होता है| यह गुरु-शिष्य संबंध को उजागर करता है|”
माला पर ओशो 1981 में:
“वह जो मेरी माला है, उसमें जो तस्वीर अटकाई हुई है, वह सिर्फ भारतीय भोंदुओं को चौंकाने के लिए, और कुछ भी नहीं। एक मजाक है, और कुछ भी नहीं। लेकिन मजाक को समझने के लिए भी थोड़ी बुद्धि चाहिए।”
